DAY AT THE RACES, Bangor –on –Dee National Hunt Meeting on Saturday 14th May. We will be meeting for a pub lunch prior to the meeting and first race is at 2.15 p.m. Cost per person, plus lunch.

STOCKJUDGING EVENINGS We have three evenings planned, so book the dates in your diary now, starting on :-
Friday 27th May 7.30p.m. (Including a linear demo), hosted by Mark & Sue Nutsford "Riverdane" at Ravenscroft Hall Farm, King Street, Byley, Middlewich. CW10 9LE.
Judge: Ben Nottage "Forte".
Friday 3rd June 7.30p.m. hosted by Ivan Shepherd "Budworth" at Hilltop Farm, Aston by Budworth, Northwich. CW9 6NG.
Judge: Mick Gould "Woodmarsh".
Monday 6th June 7.30p.m. hosted by E W H Moore Partnership, "Checkley" The Grange, Betley, Nr. Crewe. CW3 9DB.
Judge: Wil Armitage "Lyons".
0 per person, per evening, including refreshments, children under 16 years free of charge.
Prize cards and awards in all age groups. Dugdales Nutrition kindly sponsor our stock judging events this year. We would encourage as many youngsters as possible to attend the first night and the linear demo, this will be held between the two judging classes, so that some of us older members can refresh ourselves on how the scoring for various traits has been amended, such as rump structure etc.
HERD VISIT Mr. Fred Williams kindly invites Western Club members to the "TWILIGHT HERD" open day on Thursday 9th June 2005 starting with lunch at 12 noon and afterwards view the herd. The herd is at Upper Trostra Farm, Glascoed, Pontypool, Gwent and the Shropshire Club have kindly agreed that anyone wishing to join their coach will be made welcome. The coach will also be visiting Peter Andrews "Ruckhall" herd in the morning.
Coach will be leaving Ellesmere at 8.00 a.m. and picking up at Sainsburys car park, Meole Brace, Shrewsbury at 8.30 a.m. Please let Secretary have your booking as soon as possible.
HERD VISIT the Pickford family have kindly invited club members to their Open Day on THURSDAY 16th JUNE start time is 11a.m. for coffee, with welcome & presentation at 11.30 a.m. This is followed by viewing the herd and buildings, with lunch at 1.30 p.m.
Anyone wishing to stay on in the afternoon can see the milking at 3.45 p.m. This is an excellent opportunity to view the winners of the RABDF Gold Cup award 2004 and the famous "S" family. Please book your place direct with the farm Tel. . Spotacre Farms, Stone, Stafford. ST15 8RN.
HERD VISIT, TUESDAY 28th JUNE at 7.30 p.m. by kind invitation of our retiring chairman, Andrew & Mrs. Jenny Jones "Rossett". Rackery Farm, Burton, Rossett, Near Wrexham. Everyone welcome. A chance to see this excellent herd which was runner up in our Herd Competitons Small herds category, for the last two years.
CHESHIRE SHOW TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY 21st/22nd June &
NANTWICH SHOW WEDNESDAY 27th July - the club stand will be available for hospitality, by the judging ring. Homemade cakes and raffle prizes warmly welcomed.
ANNUAL HERD COMPETITION will be judged during the week 11h July. Judge this year is Mr. George Robinson " Farleton". Entry forms available from the Secretary in May.
CALF SHOW combining three clubs, Western, Staffordshire and Shropshire will be on Saturday 17th September, 10 a.m. at SouthView Equestrian Centre, Wettenhall, Winsford. Judges: Handling classes- Mike Halliwell " Field of Dreams" Calf classes ul Harrison "Chishillways". The coloured breeds will also be using part of the venue on the same day for their calf show.
